I am a bay area local. In my free time I enjoy hiking in the redwoods, reading, drawing, painting, watching old horror movies from the 1930s, and combing through thrift stores.
I believe children learn best when they are given the freedom to explore within safe limits. That they should be given plenty of time outdoors, allowed to get their hands dirty, and to learn about the world around them. I love to sing with children, tell stories at circle time with puppets, garden and watch things grow with them, use clay and paint, observe nature and wildlife, and encourage their imaginative play.
I obtained my Montessori Teacher Credential from the American Montessori Society in 2020, and I have 15 Early Childhood Education units from Merritt College in Oakland. I have been teaching in preschools for about 5 years, and I know that in some capacity, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
