Teacher
I have over 10 years of professional teaching experience in a variety of settings, including preschools, public school classrooms, and after-school programs. I received my B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development from San Francisco State University, and I am currently pursuing an M.A. in Language & Literacy Instruction at CSU Sacramento.
I grew up in the world of children’s theater—learning and performing at the Julia Morgan, CCCT, Children’s Fairyland, and beyond—and I enjoy weaving aspects of music, movement, and storytelling into my teaching. I’m also a big believer in the magic of the outdoors. I love how nature engages children’s innate curiosity about the world around them. There is always something wiggly, squishy, green, or crunchy just waiting to be observed, learned about, or incorporated into play! I am proud to be part of a school community that values play-based, child-guided learning as much as I do, and I hope to cultivate a learning environment based on caring relationships, mutual respect, and lots and lots of fun!
When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me birdwatching at Tilden Park, baking extravagant desserts, practicing Spanish, or becoming overly invested in my latest Dungeons & Dragons game.
